Sunday, May 29, 2022 –Kipruto Arap Kirwa, United Democratic Alliance UDA Party Vice Chairman has decamped to Azimio.
The politician made the move today when he was received by both Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua in their Sunday May 29 rally held in Bungoma County.
Kirwa is a seasoned politician having been in Parliament as Cherengany representative for 10 years and as a Minister for five years during the late President Mwai Kibaki’s first term.
“Mine has been a journey of two weeks, last Sunday but one, Kenya Kwanza announced their selection of Ruto’s running mate and that was the final indication among many that there was a lack of democracy,” he told the audience in Bungoma.
He then went ahead to make a clear difference between Raila’s Azimio and William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza saying the two are like night and day.
“The next day, Raila unveiled Karua as his running mate and for the last 13 days or so I have been thinking about how and why I would stay at a side where democracy was going to be sacrificed?” he stated.
The former Agriculture minister revealed that he has been talking to Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua on the matter.
He has also today resigned from UDA Party saying his support had fully shifted to Azimio where Raila Odinga is their captain.
