Tuesday, October 17, 2023 –A near death encounter occurred in Kitui after a wall collpsed on parked cars outside near Governor Julius Malombe county headquarters.
In the photos which landed on our desk on Tuesday October 17, over 10 cars were seen crashed on the ground as onlookers tried to salavge the ill-fated cars.
Among the cars at the scene included parked Toyota, Subaru and other high-end cars all parked outside a storey building branded Kafel Apartment adjacent to Kitui Governor Julius Malombe’s offices.
A source from the area reported that the wall collapsed following a heavy downpour which happened yesterday Monday October 16 evening.
Looking at the damage from the accident impact on the cars, most were crashed by the wall with several having smashed windows.
Our source did not tell whether other valuable properties inside the governor’s compound were also affected by the impact.
This type of accidents are usually escalated by lack of proper drainage system especially during heavy downpour seasons.
Ukambani Region lacks enough rainfall but when it starts to rain, such cases rise up amid flooded roads and fields.
