Tuesday, April 23, 2024 – Professor Makau Mutua and Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly MCA Robert Alai are embroiled in an ugly online attack.
This started when the former Azimio spokesman Makau Mutua implicated Alai in the ongoing mess around Nairobi County.
He asked Alai not just to blame Governor Johnson Sakaja but also to take responsibility in the city mess as an MCA.
“But he’s a part of the mess himself, as are the vast majority of MCAs. For example, for two years now, the residents of the Raphta Road/Church Road in Westlands have pleaded with him to get the illegal kiosks erected on the roadside removed without success.
“People eat and relieve themselves in public there leaving garbage and waste strewn all over. The area is becoming a den of muggers, rapists, and thieves. Recently, there was a lynching/killing and daylight theft in a high-end grocery,” said Makau Mutua
He, therefore, challenged the MCA Mr. Alai to do his job instead of ranting his thoughts on social media as his voters suffer in Kileleshwa.
But is a sharp rejoinder through the comments section, Alai simply urged the legal scholar to stick to his lanes.
“I am happy to be together with fellow MCAs in your eyes because I refuse to render poor traders jobless and condemn them to economic misery.
“Bwana Prof, hao traders have a right to ply their trade without your snobbish character intruding into their honest endeavours. I thought you were teaching in Buffalo NY. Umekuja kurender people jobless? Enda NY. Hapa Nairobi lazima kiosk inakaa together with wadosi,” added MCA Alai.
Alai was voted MCA Kileleshwa Ward on ODM Party ticket in the 2022 general election.
