Friday, July 14, 2023 –Opposition force led by their leader Raila Odinga has reviewed upwards their protest days from one day to now three days, every week.
Today Friday July 14, the Azimio leadership released a statement that listed Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays and the new days to pour on the streets against the William Ruto’s government.

The statement signed by Chairman Wycliffe Oparanya and received on Homenews.co.ke news desk shows that the camp had now resolved to intensify pressure on the State in their quest to be heard by the William Ruto-led government.
Apart from how the government wants to select the new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC commissioners, Azimio also wants Ruto to stop meddling in other parties’ politics including Jubilee Party.
Odinga also warned Ruto that any continued attempts to lure opposition leaders to join government could escalate their political difference.
But in a sharp rejoinder while on his tour in Tharaka Nithi a day ago(Thursday July 13), Ruto said meeting and talking with other leaders was being done in good faith because he is the president and cannot sideline other leaders on the ground of political affiliation.
“I have heard them claim that I am meeting their leaders -MPs and Governors. What is wrong when I meet them for development? Ruto posed on his tour in Tharaka Nithi.
Their notice to mount three day protests every week, is informed by what they described as ‘public demand’.

“Further to the communication issued yesterday on the Third Wave of peaceful protests scheduled to start on Wednesday next week, and following overwhelming requests from all sectors of the Kenyan Public for the need to intensify these demonstrations, the Coalition hereby wishes to announce a revision of the calendar.
“Going forward, the peaceful protests will now be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week, in line with requests from the public to include three days of activity. Let’s meet on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday,” Partly reads the statement dated July 14.
And with the three days straight demonstrations, Azimio now expects the William Ruto-led government to heed to their calls and repeal the controversial Finance Act that is still a bone of contention across board.
