Friday, January 26, 2024 –President William Ruto has said he will continue with the housing levy plans despite court reading today.
Speaking in a public rally in Kiutine, Meru County on Friday January 26 morning, the head of Sate said, through the power of the people, he will not adhere to the court rulings and that the housing levy was more important to the people than rulings from a few judges.
While asking his supporters what they wanted, Ruto insinuated that he has enough support from the majority to go on with the housing levy and project.
“Your voice is the authority of God and I have powers to implement my plans as I had planned. I am going on with my projects,” he announced.
Ruto wondered why his opposers are against everything he wants to implement including the housing project, export of labour and digital jobs when Kenya has so many unemployed youths out there.
He said his main agenda is to support the youths to get employment opportunities through mega projects and that public participation is no difference from what his supporters had decided in rallies.
“I have enough authority from Kenyans to continue with the housing project,” President Ruto also declared.
He urged the youths to avoid those preaching street demonstrations which he noted that cannot help anyone progress in life.
The commander-in-chief was addressing this in Kiutine, Meru County where he has pitched camp since yesterday.
Together with the area governor Kawira Mwangaza, he used the opportunity to officially open of St. Mark’s Primary School.
