Saturday, June 3, 2023 –A renowned city Dj has been arrested by Kasarani Police officers after court granted the authorities permission to hold him over wife Sharon Njeri’s suicide incident.
The Makadara Court allowed the police to arrest Michael Macharia aka Dj Brownskin for seven days as investigations into his wife’s death carry on.
This news site established that the music entertainer was arrested on June 1, while at an entertainment joint and he is expected to respond to the death of his wife who drunk poison as he watched the drama in their house.
Homenews.co.ke has learnt that the Dj had earlier failed to honor police summons three times since the incident went viral.
His wife with whom they have kids together died on July 29, 2022 and her video would, weeks later, emerge on social media.
So far the police are in possession of the full and detailed version of the chilling clip that shows how the wife gulped poison as the man recorded her every step.
Though not very clear which charges could be preferred to him, sections of the police have pointed at ‘aiding suicide’.
Within the seven days, the entertainer will be tasked with telling his side of the story as the detectives comb through the scene once more.
Penal Code Section 225 C, could see the DJ face life imprisonment, but only if the police will prove their case beyond doubt.
“Any person who procures another to kill himself; or counsels another to kill himself and thereby induces him to do so; or aids another in killing himself is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for life,” partly reads the Penal Code.
On social media, the Dj had celebrated her late wife as a loving and caring woman and mother to his kids.
They lived in a two bedroom rented unit in Nairobi.
