Tuesday, September 13, 2022 –William Rutos’ new government has started complaining about empty public coffers they are inheriting from Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime.
New Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, while launching a scathing attack on Uhuru Kenyatta, told the audience that there is still little hope even as they take charge of the nation.
He accused the outgoing head of State of running down the economy which was once glowing when the late Mwai Kibaki was in power.
“The truth of the matter is that we have inherited a dilapidated economy which almost facing shut down. we have a huge task to liberate this country and bring it back to where Kibaki left it,” Gachagua stated.
He added that they had checked the Treasury and found the situation there was not so good and this will mean they start from zero again.
“We have talked to the treasury, and the coffers are empty. We will have to start from scratch,” he stated.
He took the opportunity to blame Mr. Kenyatta of spending so much time fighting innocent Kenyans instead of saving the economy from falling.
Mr. Gachagua then assured the country that their government will not harbor personal vendetta against anybody who did not support them.
“I want to tell the people of Kenya that today is a great day. Kenya is now a democratic country. It became a crime to be a friend of William Ruto. You are finally free,” the new DP stated.
Ex-President Kenyatta today handed over all the instruments of power to the incoming head of State, William Ruto, in an event attended by other East African Presidents among them Samia Suluhu of Tanzania and Yoweri Museveni from Uganda.
