After holding a very successful tour in Kisii County over the weekend, Deputy President William Ruto is secretly plotting for another rally in Ukambani.
News reaching our desk indicated that on Friday September 11th evening, a section of his(Ruto) grounds men who had gathered in a local Kitui hotel were flushed out by police who had been tipped off on their meeting.
Our sources told us that the said legislators had gathered at Mathima Market in Mutha Ward where they were busy deliberating on how to mobilise crowds like those which were seen in Kisii County.
Among politicians who were found in the illegal meeting are Victor Munyaka from Machakos town, Fabian Kyule from Kang’undo, Vincent Musyoka from Mwala and Nimrod Mbai of Kitui East.
Armed police had to engage the politicians and their supporters in running battles which resulted in a long altercation. Police had also to lobby teargas at the gatherings.
“We have seen double standards by police today. We have seen other leaders bringing in huge crowds but they do not get teargassed but our small meeting with less than 20 people caused so much trouble that they had to unleash the arsenal on us,” Mwala Mp Vincent stated.
Musyoka is among those supporting DP Ruto’s presidency in 2022.
