Monday, February 26, 2024 –Lawyer Miguna Miguna has warned President William Ruto against too much international tours at the expense of local development.
In his Monday February 26, 2024 statement seen by Kenyawide.com news desk, the Kenyan-Canadian Lawyer, indirectly, told President William Ruto and his administration to slow down on foreign visits and, instead, focus on developing the country.
He also pointed out that citizens should not be celebrating such visits because they may amount to nothing better for them.
“Visiting White House by an African president or prime minister shouldn’t be something to celebrate or boast about. African presidents and prime ministers should spend more time and resources in their countries and focus on solving the myriad of problems facing their citizens,” Lawyer Miguna stated.
Dr. Miguna’s remarks coming shortly after President William Ruto made an official public confirmation about his much-anticipated tour in the United States of America U.S.A.
Speaking at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi on Sunday February 25 during Pastor Benny Hinn crusade, the commander-in-chief announced that he had received an official invitation from his American counterpart, Joe Biden.
Ruto stated that this is the first State visit of an African head of State to the United States and celebrated it as one of its kind and which he can’t wait to fulfill.
“I have just come from a meeting with Ambassador of the US. You know …and she came to tell me what you already know that the President of the U.S had invited the president of Kenya for a State visit which is one of a kind in 20 years. No African head of state has had a state visit in the U.S.” Ruto announced.
Dr. Ruto therefore, promised to capitalize on the tour to make Kenya a great place on earth.
“This country will go places. Kenya is going to be greater than what you see and it’s because we believe in the living God,” he stated.
Of late, President William Ruto has been accused of flying around a lot by a section of the country that feels, this would only drain the country of its hard-earned taxes when the economy requires otherwise.
But in a rejoinder, the head of State rubbished such mentality saying he is not a global tourist as sections tend to portray him.
