Wednesday, February 14, 2024 -Attorney General AG Justin Muturi has claimed, for the second time, that part of senior government officials do not consult him.
Speaking before a Parliamentary Committee on Tuesday February 14, Muturi remarked that most senior appointments both in the office of the President including his deputy, are made without his knowledge.

“Senior deputy solicitor general in the Statehouse and current chief of staff in the deputy President office were erroneously appointed before I was consulted,” he noted.
Mr. Muturi also claimed that, though he doesn’t want to appoint people, there is need for his office and roles to be respected by other departments.
He also said he only advices the State when he is asked to do so but whenever it decides to do things before talking to him, he lets it go.
The senior legal advisor, a week ago, also claimed that the current housing levy controversy may continue meeting hurdles day in day out because of miscommunication and lack of proper planning.
He opened fire at the Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah for not recognising the importance of county governments in the ongoing housing project.

Muturi advised that the current standoff can only be ironed out should the Parliament and the county allowed to both participate.
He had told members of the press not to misreport his views saying there is nothing alarming to worry about.
