Friday, February 2, 2024 –Detectives have confirmed arresting a security guard over the Thursday night gas explosion.
The police, according to our sources, moved with speed to apprehend the guard on account that he was in charge of security when the incident took place.
Though, it is not clear what charges they are proffering against him and the actual identity of the guard, the police are still combing through the scene to establish the motive.
Also unconfirmed are reports that, two mechanics in the area have since been linked to the killer night flames.
In related news, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has announced the exemption of medical fees for persons affected by the destructive fire that occurred in Embakasi on Thursday night.
“Currently, all County Health and Medical teams are also managing the sitation and also working hand in hand with the County Disaster and Risk management teams who continue to provide the necessary support to the victims of the fire incident,” said Sakaja in the statement seen by Citizen Digital.
In a statement on Friday, Sakaja, while sympathising with the affected, said the exemption of medical fees applies exclusively to public county hospitals.
