Tuesday, February 13, 2014 -President William Ruto has released an official statement moments after jetting in Dubai for an international summit.
Despite outrage in Kenya that he left for an only 10-minute speech meeting, Ruto has responded back saying he used the time to also hold bilateral discussions with colleagues.
For instance, he met Sultan Ahmed AL Jabar, the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the Arab Emirates who is also the head of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and Chairman of Masdar, on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit held in Dubai.
“Met Sultan Ahmed AL Jabar, the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the Arab Emirates who is also the head of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and Chairman of Masdar, on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit, Dubai.
“Kenya’s investment in infrastructure comprising road, rail and port is enticing many international investors,” he announced from the meeting.
The commander-in-chief added that the United Arabi Emirates UAE had indicated it’s willingness to pump money in Kenya’s energy and technology sector.
“I am glad that the United Arab Emirates has shown interest in enhancing its presence in energy and technology in our country and the East African region.
“We want a win-win engagement for the citizens of the two countries,” President Ruto further stated.
Furthermore, he noted that Kenya and Rwanda have, for long, shared values on trade and investment within East Africa and the African continent.
“Met President Paul Kagame of Rwanda on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai, UAE,” he also mentioned.
Ruto, in his announcement, discussed investment opportunities between various countries and Kenya as well as regional peace and security.
