Tuesdsu, December 19, 2023 -Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has been accused of undermining neighbour States.
On his tv interview with host Trevor Ombija on the night of Monday, December 18, Murkomen announced that Rwanda is still a struggling country which cannot be compared to Kenya.
He went ahead to claim that Rwanda is a lawless State where president’s word is law unlike in Kenya where law reigns supreme.
“Rwanda is not like Kenya. Rwanda is an autocracy and there whatever the President says is the law,” he said.
Defending his one year performance in the Roads docket, Murkomen stated that, in Kenya, decisions cannot be made by one person and be final.
“For every decision you make in this country you must go through a proposal then Parliament then public participation. Then after you go through all the processes you go through the court and that is our country,” he added on an interview.
As if that is not enough, Mr Murkomen noted that Rwanda is even smaller than Kajiado County.
“You cannot compare the political situation in Rwanda and the size of the country with our country and our democracy. That is why we have to employ technology to deal with corruption and cartelism,” he further noted.
His sentiments have elicited reactions from Kenyans who called upon the government to learn to respect neighbours.
Lately, Kenyan government has had a frosty relationship with neighbours among them Uganda, Tanzania, Congo and and Sudan.
