Monday, February 15, 2021 -Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has challenged both President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to make a day and iron out their differences for the sake of the nation.
Speaking while presiding over football activities in his constituency, Mr. Duale who is also the former Majority leader in the National Assembly said it is time for the two leaders to sit down and talk as gentlemen.
He argued that nothing was impossible and just like Uhuru and Raila Odinga sat down and again became bossom friends so can be Ruto and Uhuru.
“Malumbano ya chama cha jubilee yanadhiri na kuharibu maisha ya wananchi wa Kenya. Seat down like gentlemen and sort out your differences once and for all for the sake of the future of our country,” Duale said.
He observed that the current situation between the president and his deputy was an embarrassing one which ought to be brought to an amicable end.
His sentiments are coming barely three days after the president challenged his deputy to choose between the opposition or government.
Uhuru asked Mr. Ruto to stop criticizing the government like he is not part of it terming such behaviours as deceitful and misleading.
“If you feel the government is good, stay with it. If you keep criticizing it, leave and let others continue working,” Uhuru said while on his tour around Nairobi.
Ruto would a day later confirm that he was not going to resign from work because his position was in the Constitution of Kenya.
