Monday, December 21, 2020 -Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress ANC Party has picked on their candidate who they will use to battle it out in the next Matungu Constituency by-election.
The ANC’s Elections Board defended that they did all that was needed to reach to that conclusion with an aim of saving time which seems not to be on their side.
Led by Chairman Kelvin Lunani, they concluded that Peter Nabulindo was the best suitable candidate to take on the other rivals if his past report was anything to rely upon.
“The National elections board considered the strict timelines that were set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, the prevailing Covid-19 protocols on public gatherings and the report from the ground on how many candidates had shown interest in the ANC Party ticket and how many complied with the ANC Party Constitution,” said ANC Chairman Lunani.
And reacting to his uncontested nomination, Nabulindo noted that he will make the entire ANC house happy when the election is finally conducted on March 4th, 2021.
He also took the opportunity to urge locals to vote him into office promising to carry on from where the late Justus Murunga had left.
“I thank the entire ANC fraternity led by the party leader Musalia Mudavadi, and I can assure the party as it has entrusted me I am going to work day and night to ensure that I deliver this seat to ANC and I will faithfully work for the people of Matungu.” Said Nabulindo
The ANC candidate was second in 2017 race while vying through Mosses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya Party. Records in our possession show that he managed to collect a total of 10, 800 votes against Murunga’s 18,648 votes.
Mudavadi has since observed that the forthcoming Matungu mini-poll will be crucial in determining the future of ANC Party around Mumias area.
Mudavadi and Wetang’ula have come together to field Mr. Nabulindo with an aim of winning the election which Raila’s ODM and Ruto’s marauding group are also day and night salivating for.
