Tuesday, January 5, 2021 -A section of Kieleweke-allied leaders from Central Kenya have seemingly changed their mind on Raila Odinga presidency.
Led by Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege, they have allegedly urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to review his relationship with Raila Odinga and if possible deny him presidency in 2022.
They cited the overreaction the ODM brothers unleashed on Senator Irungu Kang’ata who had seemingly undermined the whole Building Bridges Initiative BBI in Mt. Kenya. He addressed a long anti-BBI letter to the president saying the project will be rejected by masses especially in Central Kenya.
Kang’ata through the leaked letter, confidently mentioned that the BBI was a project that was headed for ‘shameful and spectacular’ defeat.
This news was however received negatively by the likes of Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and a few other Orange Democratic Movement Party leaders.
In their sharp reaction, ODM wondered who had delegated Mr. Kang’ata duty to carry out uncertified research and draw a conclusion about an important process of the BBI.
Junet therefore affirmed that the project will carry on as planned and anything that was said by Kang’ata will not be taken serious because of his insignificant political position in Kenya.
But on her part, Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege reportedly responded that even though the Senator was wrong to make early conclusions on BBI process, ODM on the other hand, were wrong in the manner they received the news. She said their reaction went overboard and clearly showed how they still hate people from Central Region.
The harsh reaction from ODM, according to Chege, must be taken serious and if possible show the world what kind of leadership ODM can make when they are finally handed instruments of power.
“Judging the reaction to Irungu Kang’ata from ODM side, clearly shows the hatred towards Mt. Kneya; what about when they get the big seat?” she posed.
She has since asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to change his mind and pick a different presidential candidate for 2022 rather than Odinga.
In her own words, she thinks Prof Mukhisa Kituyi would make a neutral sober leader for the country after Uhuru is done with his last term.
Her sentiments therefore seems to have completely deflated Raila Odinga’s plans to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta through their renewed relationship.
