Ugandan pop star-turned-fierce politician Robert Kyagulanyi or Bobi Wine continues to torment the current regime led by President Yoweri Museveni.
The Kyandodo East MP has continued to win elections after another over the current regime and this, according to sources, is becoming a headache to Satehouse.
In the latest polls, the ghetto artist threw shockwaves across Uganda after his landslide win against Yoweri Museveni’s candidates. This is happening just days after unveiling his party called The National Unity Party NUP.
“Dear NUP Youth, am so proud of you! Less than a month after unveiling NUP, we won most seats everywhere we had candidates! Where we did not win is where we didn’t front candidates. That’s the lesson for us for the next elections. This is a revolution! #PeoplePower_OurPower”, wrote Bobi Wine.
Museveni has remained in power for many years and to be exact more than 30 but at this rate he will have to prepare, pack and leave as Bobi Wine seems to be his perfect dose.
Joining hands with longtime opposition leader and Museveni’s rival Kizza Bisigye, the two may finally give Museveni a run for his money.
The two bigwigs and their supporters feel that the current president has broken law with wanton abandon just to make sure his interests are preserved, and this Ugandans will not be taking anymore.
“That’s a promising start Mr HE. But I’ve a concern which should be addressed, in rural areas we don’t have mobilisers. I don’t even know how I can register as a member, hia in Kamwenge!” a random Ugandan pleaded with Bobi Wine.
The rise of the youthful Bobi Wine has come at a time Uganda has been grappling with who was the best replacement for Museveni. They, however, seem to have found.
Museveni on his part has vowed to remain in power until his last day on earth.
