A 17 year old boy has lost life in Kakamega after a love rival stabbed him with a sharp knife to death.
According to reports which Homenews.co.ke received on Thursday Sep 10th morning, the incident happened when a 16 year old suspect learnt about his rival moving around with a 14 year old girlfriend when he decided to launch a manhunt on him and later stabbed him.
Reportedly, the 16 year old suspect in form two now was seen at the diseased home shortly before stabbing him.
Sources claimed that they heard a short altercation of the boys but it was not taken serious by anyone in the neighbourhood since nobody thought it would result into somthing fatal.
The suspect, according to eyewitnesses, claimed he shoved out a kitchen knife from his pocket before stabbing the other boy in the chest and his left arm killing him on the spot.
Confirming the incident, Shinyalu Subcounty Deputy Commissioner Moffat Moseti said they had managed to corner and arrest the knife-wielding suspect who is currently held at Shisasari Police Station.
“The deceased was taken to Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue, whereas the suspect is being held at Shisasari Police Station,” Moseti reported.
He is expected to be arraigned in a Kakamega Juvenile Court by Monday after investigations are done.
“We will arraign him in a juvenile court once investigations into the 17-year-old boy’s death are concluded,” said Moseti.
