Tuesday, March 2, 2021 -Five persons among them Bungoma County Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga were involved in a car accident during their last day in Kabuchai Constituency campaigns.
Wambilianga was injured at the home of Ford Kenya aspirant Majimbo Kalansinga at Sikusi. It is reported that one car which was part of their entourage lost control and rammed them when they were receiving party leader Moses Wetang’ula.
“The vehicle belonging to Chwele MCA Barasa Mukhongo lost control and rammed into the crowd,” said a witness.
He added that maybe the driver wanted to engage a reverse gear but accidentally engaged front gear leading to the drama.
Doctors confirmed that the politician sustained a broken limb and was forced to undergo an emergency surgery exercise at the Bungoma Life care Hospital.
Her handlers have since confirmed to the media that she is stable and on her way to recovery.
“Yes mama was involved in a small accident but she is currently in a stable condition,” Fred Sanane, his aide said.
The politician also suffered two fractures on her leg.
