Thursday, February 22, 2024 –Economist David Ndii opposes most of the President’s policies during Cabinet sittings.
Public Service Cabinet Secretary CS Moses Kuria has described the economist as a man who has principles and can take-on the head of State for hours during their Cabinet meetings usually held in the Statehouse.
Making an appearance on a Tv interview on Wednesday February 21 night show, the Public Service CS shared some of the less-known intrigues from their Cabinet sittings; saying it is never a child’s play.

Kuria mentioned that the President has allowed his aides to hold him accountable same to the Cabinet members and can listen to them and, as well, challenge them during meetings.
He said it is always a two-way discussion that looks like a small university class where discussion and arguments take center stage.
“There’s another guy who’s great at pushing back. He is Dr. David Ndii. He’s the real Fredrick Engels to the Karl Marx. It’s like a university class, the amount of intellectual discourse that goes on within some of our meetings is unbelievable.” Kuria said.
He described Dr. Ndii as a fearless man who has, not once, held Ruto accountable for some of the policies issued at the Statehouse.
The former Gatundu MP also lauded President Ruto for knowing too much of the ongoings in every government department.
“He (Ruto) does his homework, he reads. If you go to his office, he will want to listen to the most junior person. He likes people who push back because within that engagement a lot gets to come out.
“People out there think it’s fun or just about being criticised. It’s a small university that happens for many hours. Ndii is fearless and he’s that guy. To be the chair of the Council and he led us into developing this plan and the partnership between him and the president is unbelievable,” he added.
And responding to claims that Ruto usually lectures them in Cabinet meetings, Kuria defended that saying, instead, what the commander-in-chief does is to be outright when necessary.
He said Ruto is one of the easy guys who mingles and listens to others; something his predecessors never did.

During their Naivasha retreat, Ruto was seen giving UDA Parrty MPs and his Cabinet a lecture on why they are not helping him spread the word around the country.
Dr. Ruto was captured on camera, wondering how his government was in need of nurses to send abroad but none of UDA MPs was aware.
