Wednesday, June 16, 2021 -Mt. Kenya University student Celestine Muthengi(19) now in his second year was murdered by boyfriend who stormed her room and hacked her to death.
According to media reports, the assailant knocked on their door in a house she was with fellow classmates, asked for her as friends ushered him to where she was on the bed charging her smartphone. As soon as he arrived, the lady asked him to explain who he was.
“I’ve heard you are looking for Celestine. I am the one,” she said in what proved to be her last words on earth.
The attacker quickly responded by telling the lady he had finally caught up with her after cheating on him for some time.
“Ulidhani Sitakupata. Unani-cheat,” he said. Loosely translating to: (You’ve been cheating on me, but I’ve finally find you). He would then pull out a kitchen knife he was carrying in his trouser and stabbed her severally before fleeing. At that point, her roommates had also taken to their heels.
Thika police are currently in hot pursuit of the suspect who is still at large.
Our sources reported that the diseased was a second year student pursuing Human Resource Development in the Thika based MKU College.
