Embakasi East Legislator Paul Ongili or Babu Owino is inching closer to being a free a man again following claims that Dj Evolve now wants the case withdrawn from court.
Dj Evolve, through his lawyers, has allegedly requested that they settle the matter with the MP at home.
Word reaching our Dundapost.com Gossip desk on Saturday October 17th indicated that the Dj’s family had asked the DPP to halt any further prosecution plans he had commenced against the youthful Babu Owino who was accused of shooting the Dj in a city club at dawn.
Dj Evolve who is paralyzed at home, through the said withdrawal letters, want nothing to do with the case so that he can fully concentrate on both his health and healing process.
He is optimistic that he will be fully recovering and swing back to his entertainment job around the city which he misses a lot; according to sources.
But even after making the request to stop the case against MP Babu, Director of Public Prosecution DPP Noordin Haji seems to have read mischief in the decision and now wants the Dj first checked his mental stability before they can start to pull away the case file.
DPP also wants to unravel the truth behind such a sudden about turn from the family which should be crying for justice more than anybody else.
Haji is said to have then asked the court to allow them to prosecute the case to its full conclusion despite the pressure from the victims to drop the charges against the MP.
Evolve was in January shot in the neck while performing at the popular B-Club in Kilimani Nairobi and left in critical condition.
At the hospital, he had to go through several medical operations to remove blood clot around the affected neck area where the bullet had also clogged.
Taken to task top explain the circumstances under which he had to pull trigger against unarmed Orinda, MP Babu Owino quickly defended that he was doing a ‘self defense’ after he was allegedly surrounded by strange individuals while enjoying his drinks.
“While enjoying the company of my friends at a popular Nairobi restaurant, I was surrounded by a large group of aggressive individuals. In the melee, there was an exchange of gunfire,” read the statement to police.
He was then arrested shortly before he was later released on cash bail.
