Sunday, June 6, 2021 -Recently erected road sign in the name of Francis Atwoli is now under heavy protection. Sources from the ground have reported.
In a post made on Saturday evening by Kenya’s renowned Human Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi, the Kileleshwa area where Atwoli recently erected his signpost is under 24 hour surveillance by goons.
“Yes, you read that right…three grown-ass men hired to watch over a road sign. Kenya ina mambo kweli,” Mwangi tweeted about it after visiting the area.
Let’s meet at Dik Dik Gardens, today, 1pm and just say hallo to @AtwoliDza goons. It’s a beautiful day to take a stroll and check out how Atwoli’s “CCTV” is holding up. Dik Dik Gardens is in Kileleshwa, off Mandera Road. You can take a Matatu number 48 from Odeon Cinema. See you. pic.twitter.com/HTMB1y919J

The activist further clarified that he had to go there and see for himself the viral signpost which has seen many Kenyans express their reservations on the move by the County Government of Nairobi under Anne Kananu.
“I’m back! I went to see the illegal sign on Dik Dik Road. I find it laughable @AtwoliDza has employed three goons to guard it. Atwoli thrives on violence and intimidation to get his way. His CCTV is goons. We shall avoid confrontations but the sign will come down,” he added.
Just a day after the Nairobi County Acting Governor Ms Kananu presided over the putting up of the road sign, resident from Kileleshwa pulled it out what triggered a fierce online exchange between the COTU boss and angry Kenyans.
It was shortly re-erected back and security mounted in the area to keep it safe from those who would plan, for the second time, to vandalize it.
“The Nairobi County Government has reinstalled the sign. If you think you came from the moon go try remove it again. Also, a CCTV has been installed for the security of the area,” Atwoli tweeted.
It is however not clear for how long the men manning the signpost will take at the area because it cannot be possible that they will last long.
