Government has swung into action to save face after it was exposed for allegedly failing to honour payments of the fallen Doctor Stephen Mogusu.
It has now been reported through Chief Administrative Secretary CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangagi that Ministry of Health had reached out to the bereaved family to help provide required aid.
Mwangangi further noted that the Uhuru Kenyatta government was sorry for that death and, going forward, they will start looking into medic’s plight so that to bring this to an end.
“It’s actually heartbreaking.”
“We have seen the concerns in the media from the union members, we have talked to friends of the doctor who passed on.”
“We are well aware of the heartbreak that they are going through and we are in discussions to ensure that the family is able to get the aid they require but additionally that we are able to ensure that this isn’t a situation that recurs among other healthcare workers,” stated Dr. Mercy Mwangangi.
Doctor Mogusu died of Covid-19 last Monday December 7th triggering an industrial action from colleagues who called upon the government to be serious and address their plight or face countrywide protests.
According to sources, it was revealed that the doctor had also served for nearly five months without any pay. He had in fact expressed his frustrations over the same.
