hursday, April 22, 2022 -Former Chairman Council of Governors CoG Wycliffe Oparanya has responded to claims on his relationship with Deputy President William Ruto.
In his Wednesday April 21 speech, the Kakamega governor indicated his readiness to work with the deputy president whom he described as his friend just like many others.
He wondered what could be the issue with his meetings with the second in command whom he revealed to have met so many times in the past.
The ODM deputy party leader went on to state that his association with other politicians eyeing the 2022 presidency should therefore not be construed to mean he is plotting to leave his ODM Party.
Making this confession for the very first time since he was spotted with the DP in a hotel somewhere, Mr. Oparanya said he is yet to be an enemy to anyone.
“You can be his enemy, but the Deputy President is my friend. Kenyans should allow leaders to express themselves and talk freely,” Oparanya stated.
He further said that he has plans to meet several other leaders from other parties including Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper Democratic Party, Musalia Mudavadi from Amani National Congress ANC, Moses Wetang’ula of Ford Kenya and many others.
“I will be meeting the Wiper leader very soon,” he revealed.
On the same list, he said, is President Uhuru Kenyatta whom he is trying to schedule a meeting with in afew days to come.
Governor Oparanya recently met DP William Ruto in a controversial meeting that was also attended by other politicians among them sacked Cabinet Secretaries Rashid Echesa and Mwangi Kiunjuri.
