Thursday, February 2, 2023 –Former Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany has refuted claims that President William Ruto has appointed him Kenyan Ambassador in the United States USA.
Reacting to Wednesday February 2 viral social media news that the head of State had picked him for the international role, Kositany in the evening noted that the street rumour was not true and that members of the public should ignore such propaganda.
The former Soy Constituency legislator reminded the public that, procedure requires any State appointment to be done through an official Gazette Notice.
“Government appoints through a gazette notice, Ignore the rumor,” he said.
On Wednesday February 1, social media was awash with news on the politician’s new position in Kenya Kwanza administration. Kositany, a close ally of President William Ruto, lost election to a less known Jonathan Chelilim Bii
The then Soy MP was seeking to succeed Jackson Mandago as Uasin Gishu governor. He was up against Jonathan Chelilim Bii, Prof. Julius Bitok, former Salaries and Remuneration Commission SRC chairperson Sarah Serem, among others.
Bii emerged the winner in the nomination race for Uasin Gishu governor UDA ticket after getting 71,152 votes. He also won the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial position in the general election.
