Monday, May 3, 2021 -Wrangles have taken center stage in Deputy President William Ruto’s wing with some sections feeling shortchanged especially those from Mt. Kenya.
Making this revelations on Inooro Tv on Sunday evening May 2, former Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri claimed that the recent meeting saw members trade babs.
“There are internal wrangles in UDA and recently I heard them accusing each other. Mukami (Nyeri Woman Rep) is accusing Rigathi (Mathira MP) of sidelining her in the meeting while in Nakuru, Kihika (Nakuru Senator) is in trouble for skipping the discussions,” Kiunjuri divulged.
According to Mr. Kiunjuri, he could not fully join UDA Party because he suspected its future weakness which could lead to a sudden collapse and and ruin so many peoples’ ambitions.
“I am a supporter of the deputy president but I cannot join UDA. I decided to form TSP so that if ever UDA goes up in flames, I will tell my Mt Kenya people that I had foreseen,” he added urging the Mt. Kenya region to unite within a party of their own for them to be safe.
The sacked CS further opined that the newly formed UDA Party was a temporary shelter which could crumble anytime from storm or members could be ejected any day.
Mr. Kiunjuri, MP Rigathi Gachagua and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria are all jostling for the running mate slot in DP’s camp.
Kuria and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika were both absent in the recent meeting which saw Ruto meet Mt. Kenya leadership in a hotel to discuss economy and 2022 interests. The retreat took three days.
