Thursday, December 31, 2020 –Uhuru Kenyatta’s government has rewarded embattled former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC official Ezra Chiloba with a plum State job.

Through a Gazette Notice dated Thursday December 31, 2020, and seen by this desk, ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru confirmed appointing the former Chief Executive Officer to the ICT Board of Youth Enterprise Development Fund. The new appointee is expected to serve for three years.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 5 (2) (e) (i) of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund Order, 2007, the Cabinet Secretary for ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs appoints to be a member of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund Board, for a period of three (3) years,” partly read the notice.
The Youth Fund falls in the docket of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs and which was gazetted in December 2006. It would a year later be transformed into a State corporation in 2007.

The fund focuses on the youth, innovation and entrepreneurship so as to create viable economic environment for them.
It also seeks to reduce unemployment among the young persons in the country who are touted as the greatest potential for the country in the near future.
After his unceremonious 2018 removal from office when ODM Party accused him of engineering massive electoral malpractices, Mr. Chiloba who has been busy doing silent farming at his rural Mt. Elgon home, has also been leading a low profile life since then.
It will therefore be interesting to see how he handles his second public job and how the country will receive him back to service.
