Friday, June 18, 2021 -Rachel Shebesh was paid close to sh 30 million in compensation from former Governor Evans Kidero.
On Thursday June 17 the former Nairobi Woman Representative who was appearing on Ghetto Radio interview disclosed that after the governor slapped her in September 2013 during an altercation at City Hall, he called and settled the matter out of court to avoid assault charges.
“Kidero paid me a lot of money, I’m sure he wouldn’t repeat such an offense…to slap a woman in this Country, nowadays, there is a precedence. I’m not sure people have such an amount of money. He paid me close to Ksh30 million,” she bragged.
Shebesh who is now serving as the Youth and Gender Affairs chief administrative secretary in Uhuru Kenyatta’s government mentioned that her toughness paid off well and many women, since then, are now protected.
“If I hadn’t been tough, every woman elected into office would have faced such challenges,” she added.
She however blamed Kidero for his arrogance of slapping a woman during the day and before cameras.

“Kidero, you have slapped me? You have slapped me Kidero? You have slapped me?” Shebesh was heard shouting in a video that went viral.
This happened when Shebesh stormed his city offices over county employees strike which had brought activities at the City Hall to a stop. Many of them had not been paid their dues.
