Other Kenya Kwanza leaders joined in the debate asking African heads of State to support the former premier on the job.

“I’m officially Joining the Raila Odinga Campaign for the AU. At the AU, we need reforms URGENTLY. I have much to say about Africa and the despots who rule the continent, and Raila Odinga will give us that spring board,” a Kenyan tweep read.

Raila is set to take over from Moussa Faki Mahamat who has been the chairperson at the AU for a four-year term.

Former Nigeria President Olesegun Obasanjo also threw his weight behind Odinga saying the former Kenyan premier has both the experience and qualifications needed to lead Africa in that capacity.
