Monday, March 1, 2021 -Cherengany Member of Parliament Joshua Kutuny has replaced Caleb Kositany as Jubilee Deputy Secretary general.
Kutuny who has been a long time DP William Ruto critic from the Rift Valley on Monday March 1 became a beneficiary of the party’s slot following Soy MP’s blatant disloyalty to their party leader Uhuru Kenyatta.
Through an official statement, Party’s Secretary General Raphael Tuju defended that the ouster had been conducted within Article 7 (2) of the Jubilee Party Constitution.
The development is coming just a day after Mr. David Murathe had warned that this week will see the remaining rebels from their party kicked out. Murathe further took the opportunity to hint at the removal of Ruto from office which he said was becoming inevitable.
While issuing the unusual threat last week, the former Gatundu MP indicated that the Soy MP Mr. Kositany had demonstrated his unwillingness to respect the party leader despite warnings.
Kositany, on his part, responded to Murathe by saying he(Murathe) was missing the point because there are leaders who have been supporting Mr. Odinga’s presidency but they have never been punished.
He called it a political witch-hunt against those who are supporting William Ruto’s presidential bid.
Jubilee Party leadership has already removed from office most DP William Ruto’s allies among them, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Aden Duale, Irungu Kang’ata among many others.
Cabinet Secretaries allied to Tangatanga have also suffered this fate as part of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s efforts to clean his Jubilee Party ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
