Thursday, May 13, 2021 -Kenyan born Larry Madowo will be traveling back to his home country to start a knew role with the CNN as their correspondent.
CNN’s Senior Vice President of International News Gathering and Managing Editor Deborah Rayner made this confirmation on Thursday May 13.
While unveiling Mr. Madowo who has been at BBC in the US for some years now, Deborah said they were happy to bring on board an experienced journalist who will handle politics, business and entertainment.
On his part, Madowo said he has been enjoying his work in the US but he can’t wait to be back home on another station.
“I’ve enjoyed reporting from the U.S. and around the world, but it’s a real privilege to return to covering Africa at such a critical time in Kenya and around the continent.
“I have long admired CNN International’s award-winning coverage, and I’m honored to be joining such a talented team
“I look forward to sharing the full spectrum of life in one of the most dynamic parts of the world with CNN’s global audiences,” Larry said.
At the BBC Africa station where he once served, Madowo managed to launch a total of six syndicated shows in three languages. He also managed more than two dozen business journalists based in London and four African nations.
The acclaimed TV Reporter has also worked with Kenya’s NTV for many years as well as CNBC Africa where he majored in reporting business stories and daily market shows. He has had a stint in showbiz too.
Academically, the Journalist has a Degree in Communication from Daystar University as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Economics Journalism from Columbia University based in New York.
