Thursday, May 4, 2023 –A professor at the Kenyatta University KU in Nairobi has been exposed for allegedly frustrating girls in the institution.
On Thursday May 4, Lawyer Miguna Miguna took to his Twitter handle with unconfirmed claims that a lecturer whom he identified as Thomas Namwamba has been frustrating campus girls at KU for marks.
“This is Thomas Namwamba of Kenyatta University. I have heard horror stories of how he has RUINED the lives of innocent students at KU because of his insatiable appetite for SEX. Apparently, he fails female students who refuse to sleep with him. And male students in the same group,” Dr. Miguna wrote.
The post that seemed to underscore the popular Rap song Hakuna Masomo KU by Ndovu ni Kuu saw hundreds of Miguna followers take to comments section with varied reactions on the rotten trend in many universities around the country.
“There’s some truth in these allegations. I was once a KU student,” Henry Mutunga supported Miguna Miguna.
On his part, one Mutichillo Mike, described this trade-off as ‘willing buyer willing seller’ saying some female student chase lecturers around as assign of class.
“Isn’t this willing giver-willing buyer barter trade …. let’s not play naive to the reality that some students also willingly engage into the “sex for grades”. If anyone was raped, let’s see the police reports ?. Am NOT sanitizing him or the likes, am just stating the obvious!” Mutichillo Mike said.
Kichwa Ngumu commented that this is a plight for morals and which every parent should help fight before it gets out of hand.
“On this plight for morals we concur with you. He was indeed notorious to the Core “Anapenda chini ya mvunguni thing,” Kichwa Ngumu claimed.
Ndika said some ladies proudly sleep with their lecturers to earn marks and to make ends meet in college. They don’t take their studies serious.
“But we also have a bunch of ladies who proudly sleep with lecturers to earn marks. They don’t study, just partying from one club to another. But the society, ‘it’s a man’s fault’ in every case,” Ndika responded.
Edue would quickly differ with him saying, at KU, the trend is alarming since he had witnessed this while still a student there.
“That’s true Senior, I personally know some lecturers there who have had sex with female students. My friend (girl) who denied one of the lecturers access to her Kingdom got a retake then re-retake. More often than not even students sleep with lecturers to get good grades,” Edue highlighted his experience at the school.
As of now, many colleges have been churning out graduates some who have no idea what they went to school to study. This situation has been contributing to high rate of unemployment among the youth bracket.
Many graduates also come out of the school already infected with HIV AIDS something the ministry of education should address urgently.
