Monday, December 28, 2020 -In-fights have rocked Thirdway Alliance Party following the candidature of Lawyer Miguna Miguna in the next Nairobi mini-poll race.
Party boss Ekuru Aukot and his Party Chairman Miruru Waweru on Monday December 28 afternoon clashed over the idea to field Miguna, with Mr. Waweru going as far as publishing a presser in that regard asking Nairobians to be ready for the exiled lawyer to fly the party’s flag.
He described the by-election as the best opportunity to correct the greatest and historical political mistakes not only in Nairobi but also across the country.
“Another opportunity for the greater people of Nairobi to reclaim their capital has manifested itself with the forthcoming by-election, it is a chance to correct one of the greatest political mistakes of our generation,” Partly read his stamped statement.
The party chairman further noted that through Miguna, it will be possible to bring to a sudden stop bad leadership, ineptitude, unbridled lust and glutton for public resources.
But in a sharp rejoinder, party leader Ekuru Aukot rubbished the announcement saying whoever had authored that presser was part of the rent seekers within their party.
He quickly asked everyone to ignore any message from people like Waweru who cannot purport to declare matters on behalf of the party without consulting seniors.
“Kenyans, don’t be misled by rent seekers and merchants in our party. While I would love to have the NRM General @MigunaMiguna as our candidate, the party under my leadership never even discussed his candidature as an agenda. This is the work of rent seekers!” Aukot tweeted.
Miguna Miguna recently declared his willingness to participate in the race which he tried in 2017 without much success.
