Thursday, June 22, 2023 – Kenya Water Towers Agency KWTA Board Chairman Rashid Echesa led his team to Kaptagat National Bamboo site in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
In the Thursday June 22 tour exercise, Mr. Echesa and his team were taken through the project that sits on the 25-acre land filled with bamboo nursery.

In the photos seen by Homenews.co.ke, the state-of-the-art nursery also has solar-powered borehole as well as well-kept fence to keep stray animals away.
“We were taken through the 125-acre project site by CEO Prof Julius Tanui, which includes bamboo nursery, solar-powered borehole, and protectional fencing,” Mr. Echesa updated.
The former Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Sports Culture and Heritage was accompanied by Board Directors Hon. Elisha Busienei, Mr. Michael Waititu and Mr Adan Omar.
The site visit is coming just days after chairing his first board meeting in his capacity as the Water Towers boss in the country.
“Pleased to chair the KWTA inaugural board meeting to review the performance of the Agency during the last quarter, March-April 2023,” he stated on Tuesday June 20.

President William Ruto appointed the politician as the new chairperson for the Kenya Water Towers Agency KWTA on May 19 this year.
This official appointment was made official through a government Gazette Notice dated May 18, 2023; when Echesa was elevated to serve as KWTA chairman for a period of three years.
