Monday, May 10, 2021 -Mt Kenya region will field a candidate for 2022 presidential race come what may. Details now emerges.
Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has come out to complicate Uhuru Kenyatta’s succession arithmetic by claiming that there is no way their Central Region will sit on the fence and watch new entrants enjoy their field day to Statehouse.
In his efforts to backing up his statement, the former Kiambu boss argued that they control 35 percent of the voters in the country and will only require a top up of 16 percent to get back to the top office.
“We have numbers to field a candidate in 2022, nobody should lie to you that Uhuru is the last president to vie for presidency in Mt Kenya. We shall have a candidate in 2022,” Kabogo declared on live show.
He was revealing this plan while appearing on Inooro Tv interview on Monday May 10 where he detailed how Kikuyus are still able to win any future presidential race
Kabogo’s argument is pegged on the fact that, with their numbers, they will have their way when the race officially picks up.
These remarks leaves those who have been hopping to find political support from Mt. Kenya with little options of looking for votes from elsewhere around the country.
Deputy President William Ruto will be the worst hit by this declaration since his main focus for 2022 votes has been Central Kenya after his Rift Valley backyard.
