Kenyan born super striker Michael Ogada Olunga continued terrorising sports arena in Japan after he scored against their hard to beat rivals Gamba Osaka.
The young Harambee Stars striker who joined Japanese Kashiwa Reysol side two years ago as their focus hitman scored a consolation goal in a match that saw Gamba beat Kashiwa Reysol 2-1 in their ongoing J1 League match held at the Panasonic Stadium in Suita last Saturday October 24th.
Talented Olunga who is now referred to as a super striker both in Japan and back home in Kenya, has proved that he is now a fully made striker who can play on any football level if given a chance.
Before joining international football, he was and still is a reliable striker for Harambee Stars making a perfect replacement for Dennis ‘Menace’ Oliech who has since retired from active football.
Gamba started by leading through their contested goal scored by one Patric Oliveira at the 52nd minute; a goal that was seen by many as having been scored using hand but because the match official did not spot the fault, the goal stood.
On the other hand, Olunga who had struggled to score all through the match, made a sudden improvement at the 79th minute when he unleashed a thunderbolt past Gamba Osaka’s goalkeeper Masaaki Higashiguchi.
He would later leave pitch after he collided head-on with is rival while fighting for an aerial ball before he was again brought in. He is now the top scorer in Japanese J1 League with 23 goals in total.
