Saturday, June 3, 2023 –Authorities have arrested four rouge police officers believed to have robbed an innocent man his sh 373,000 near a matatu stage in Nairobi.
The incident which took place along Charles Rubia Road was tracked through OB Number 60/2/6/2023 at the Kamukunji Police Station,

It was found that the man was heading to board a matatu to Narok after he had been paid his dues for meat supplies at Burman Market when these police officers accosted him.
The policemen, in plain clothes, would decide to accuse the man of idling in the city before they handcuffed him around.
It is reported that the suspects arrested him for loitering, conducted a search and discovered the money he was carrying in one of his pockets which they decided to focus on.
“He was taken through a lane and at a certain point, he was searched and one of the officers stole from him a total of Ksh373,000 which he had been paid as proceeds after selling meat of twelve cows at Burma market at Shauri Moyo.
“The man tried to follow them but they disappeared into the crowd of people,” read the statement in part.
On filing a report at Kamukunji Police Station, senior officers quickly summoned the four who were on patrol in the area when the incident happened.
Luckily, the businessman was able to identify one of the officers who eventually gave the identity of his colleagues.
“The officers were disarmed and escorted to Kamukunji Police Station where another officer turned up later when the complaint saw him coming upstairs, he also identified another officer to be among the three who had stolen from him.
“All four were searched and no significant money was recovered,” also read the statement in part.

Police indicated that the officers were placed under custody even as they investigate the incident awaiting to be charged in court.
