Wednesday, February 14, 2014 -The opposition boss Raila Odinga has announced that the next party flagbearer will be picked by the delegates.
Speaking in Mombasa on Tuesday February 14, Mr. Odinga noted that he was ready to abandon the bid for the top seat should delegates speak otherwise.
Responding to the ongoing debate abot his plan to take the sixth stab at the next contest, The Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader said anyone can be a flagbearer depending on their individual popularity.
The Azimio leader said their coalition delegates will pick the 2027 flag bearer what DAP-Kenya Party leader Eugene Wamalwa backed up.
“If people say Raila should continue, I will but if delegates say it is someone else like Kalonzo or Wamalwa, then I will support them equally,” Odinga pledged.
Miles away in Central Kenya, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka drummed up support for himself saying he is prepared to take on President William Ruto in 2027.
“Enough is enough and the donkey has fallen down not even getting tired,” the Wiper Party leader discussed.
He seized the opportunity to accuse the head of State of ignoring to discuss the cost of living for the millions of families suffering in poverty.
Speaking in a separate tv interview on Tuesday February 13, Eugene Wamalwa said he is going to win the flagbearer post in 2027.
“Ultimately, we will unveil our ticket and I have no doubt we will win the position. William Ruto has failed this country,” Wamalwa further said.
Accompanying Odinga in Mombasa, former area governor Ali Hassan Joho said he will be on the ballot come hat may.
“I tell them now that come 2027, I am in the ballot like the rest,” he announced.
It is not the first time Joho is talking about being on the ballot, in the last elections, he started by presenting his papers to the party ahead of the primaries same to Kakamega’s Wycliffe Oparanya, but they backed down after holding a consensus with their boss Mr. Odinga.
