Sunday, April 25, 2021 -Governor Kiraitu Murungi has sensationally made remarks against former Prime Minister Raila Odinga which seems to insinuate that Odinga puts his life second after politics.
Just few weeks ago, Raila was admitted at Nairobi Hospital at the time Kiraitu Murungi was also fighting for his life at the same facility. Several other politicians were also in the same facility with scores admitted at Aga Khan and elsewhere in Nairobi.
And recounting how life was when the virus haunted him, Governor Kiraitu has revealed how he almost lost hope as he could neither speak nor stand. He however wondered how Odinga was asked to leave his hospital bed for the sake of the Handshake which was on the brink of collapse.
He went on to disclose how he was worried watching Raila leave the hospital before a convincing recovery.
“I watched with pity, a frail-Raila Odinga, who was being treated for a Covid-19 attack being literally “dragged out of bed” so that he and the President could be seen together opening roads in Nairobi and Kajiado, for political optics, to show Kenyans that the “Handshake Deal” between the two was still intact,” Murungi stated.
He concluded that from what Mr. Odinga did, it is obvious that he rates his health second after politics which is a dangerous course anyone could take.
The former premier was discharged from hospital, took some few days resting before he surfaced with his Handshake partner Uhuru Kenyatta to inspect government projects around the city.
