Saturday, April 15, 2023 – President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga have continued with their verbal exchange over the return of demos.

Speaking in Narok on Saturday April 15 after inspecting government projects, Ruto accused Azimio leader Raila Odinga of being unfair in his push for issues raised by the Opposition.

He noted that it was not fair for Odinga to continue using force to gain access to his government seven months after election was decided.

“If you are a leader who means well for Kenyans, how can you be planning activities that destroy lives, properties and cause chaos in the country.
“It cannot be fair, it cannot be right for any leader, while they are prosecuting selfish agenda on what they want, they in the process destroy property, cause chaos and anarchy. How fair is it?” he posed.

The head of State would then describe Raila’s actions as hypocritical since protests only leave behind a trail of destruction and huge loses.

“When you are making those plans, when you are plotting demonstrations, what goes on in your mind? How do you hope to lead the country, if you are a person who wants to engage in activities that disturb the peace, ruin businesses and development of the country,” he asked.

But this speech was not heeded by the opposition leader who has already signaled a return to the bi-weekly demonstrations amid plans for a parliamentary-led bi-partisan talks.
