Wednesday, May 12, 2021 -Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura’s position has been given to former Samburu Senator Mr. Sammy Prisa Leshore.
In a Gazette Notice by the IEBC, Leshore who served as Samburu County senator between 2013-2-17 will be replacing the embattled Isaac Mwaura whose party took disciplinary actions against him for going against party’s rules and regulations.
Mr. Mwaura had joined Deputy President William Ruto’s Tangatanga faction which he used to fight his own party’s ideologies triggering disciplinary measures.
Speaking on the same, Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathne on Wednesday May 12 morning, argued that Mwaura’s ouster was long overdue and that this was worsened when he staged a chaos against ODM Party boss Raila Odinga during his visit in Githurai to popularize the BBI Bill.
Mr. Murathe said, after thorough investigations, it was found that Mr. Mwaura was part of the hired goons who disrupted Raila’s first ever BBI tour in Mt. Kenya.
According to the vocal vice chair, Jubilee Party leadership found it uncouth and irresponsible for their junior member to sponsor violence in the country at the time BBI is trying to unify the nation.
“Let me say that we cannot continue to tolerate goons in our party. He (Mwaura) according to our investigations planned to disrupt Raila from Campaigning for the BBI in the Mt Kenya region, and this was witnessed in Githurai last year. Why do you think Raila retreated after that day? Our investigations tell us that Mwaura and his company have already planned to throw this country into unrest before 2022,” Murathe told the Standard.
He added that though the remaining five Senators who are currently facing disciplinary process will be given a fair hearing, the party will not relent on punishing anyone who will be found to have gone against the party’s constitution.
