Saturday, May 20, 2023 – Popular local Afropop music group Sauti Sol will be quitting music industry as a group. And going into individual projects.
Today, Saturday May 20, the group’s management made it official that the members were done with working as a group and soon they will be heard in their individual capacities.
This development came ahead of their scheduled performance at the Stanbic Yetu Festival in Nairobi on June 10, which will be their second last show in Kenya, as a group.
“While the indefinite hiatus marks the end of a specific chapter, it also represents a new beginning for Sauti Sol,” the statement read partly.
The Sauti Sol are also expected to tour the world entertaining their fans in Europe, USA and around Africa; this being their last lap before they call it quits as Sauti Sol band.
“The upcoming tour across the US, Europe, and Canada is a chance for fans to immerse themselves in the magic of Sauti Sol one last time before the band takes a break from group projects for a while. Each performance will be infused with a sense of deep love and gratitude as the ensemble delivers their timeless hits and fan favourites that have left an indelible mark on our collective memories,” the management also said.
Nonetheless, the renowned boys music band promised that their friendship and shared vision as members of Sauti Sol continues to be the driving force behind their future projects.
The group that comprises at least four talented members has been working together now 20 years; what members describe as a great journey in their entertainment career.
“We are filled with gratitude for the love and support we have received throughout the years. While we take this hiatus to pursue our individual and collective passions, we remain committed to our friendship and our shared businesses,” further clarified the group.
They stated that they are very ready to try the new journey of working separately to fulfill that which they couldn’t as a group but maintained that their bond will still be unbreakable.
Sauti Sol comprising of four partners has Bien-Aimé Baraza born on 28th December 1987, Willis Chimano is 33 years old, Polycarp Otieno was born on 14th November 1987, and Savara Mudigi is 33 years old.
