We cleanse Ruto’s donations before use, Eldoret pastors claim

Religious leaders from North Rift are now begging Deputy President William Ruto to resume his usual church donations.

The section of the clergies argued that DPs famous donations have been helping them develop churches and in return a blessing to the second in command.

According to them led by Bishop Simon Kemei, any monies received by a pastor is first cleansed through prayers and therefore an excuse that Ruto was distributing dirty money was not making sense to any church leader.

The leaders also argued in their Thursday Sept 18th long Eldoret presser that they always do thorough sanctification of all donations they receive from Ruto before bringing them for any church use and that regardless of the source, it is okay to use after it is prayed for.

Kemei further slammed those accusing the DP generosity saying it was wrong to condemn a generous leader and instead this should be emulated by other political players.

“As clergy, we are very happy with what the DP is doing for churches because we believe he has been touched by the hand of God to see the need of the church and use the resources available to him so he can intervene and help,” Kemei remarked.

He went as far as promising to host Dr. Ruto very soon and take any money he will donate to them without fear of being reprimanded.

“If the DP will come to my church, I will be very happy and receive him wholeheartedly. As a leader of the congregation, I know we do not have musical instruments, we don’t have seats and we have many other needs that we know the DP can aid us in filling,” he added.

Ruto has been on the constant receiving end from ODM leader Raila Odinga who claims that Ruto was distributing ill-gotten wealth to places of worship to cleanse himself; but in many rejoinders, the DP has faulted Odinga saying giving is not a sin.
