Monday May 10, 2021 -Best 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education KCSE candidate is Simiyu Robison Wanjala from Murang’a High School.
Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha announced Simuyu in an exam briefing held at Mtihani House Nairobi on Monday May 10.
The Best Candidate nationally, according to the list of performance, scored 87.334 points as Wasonga Allan Udoma and Chepng’etich Sharon tied with 87.173 points putting them at position two nationally.
Ministry of Education today published the full list of perforamces and the top ten candidates are: Simiyu Robinson Wanjala, 87.334 – Murang’a High School, Wesonga Allan Udoma, 87.173 – Agoro Sare Secondary School, Sharon Chepng’eno 87.173 – Kenya High School, Muriasi Rob Ong’are 87.139 – Alliance High School and Mbugua Esther from Kenya High closing the top five.
Others in top ten category are: Kipkoech Mark Kogo, 87.106 – Alliance High School, Kenneth Oranga, 87.049 – Kabsabet High School, Henry Madaga, 87,046 – Maranda High School, Chepkorir Patience, 87.046 – Kenya High School and Musomba Edith, 87.013 from Machakos Girls High School.
Making comments on the overall performance, Prof Magoha said the 2020 class had performed a little better than the last year candidates. This is after a total of 893 students scored an A plain as compared to last year where only 629 got the A.
Further 143,140 candidates scored C+ and above as compared to 2019 class which saw only 125,747 get to the university.
