Two young boys who had tried to rob a woman off her money purse in Nairobi last Monday evening were burned beyond recognition in a mob justice act.
Our sources informed that the botched city robbery occurred along Kiambu Road where the two young men riding on a motorbike waylaid a lady along the highway, stabbed her using sharp knives before she screamed attracting attention from both residents and passersby who quickly overwhelmed them.
As the woman was being rushed to hospital by well-wishers, angry residents were on the other hand emptying the motorbike tank to use the petrol in setting them on fire. The victims were then set ablaze and burnt beyond recognition.
The duo were reportedly cornered at a junction by swelling numbers of members of the public who then descended on them with stones and machetes before setting them ablaze.
Looking at photos which several eyewitnesses sent to our news desk on morning of Tuesday August 1st, it depicts a sorrow state of affairs where two young boys could afford to lose lives early just because of their insatiable appetite for quick money.
Popular Nairobi’s top crime buster Hesy wa Dandora, through his social media crime page, thanked the move by members of the public terming it necessary. “Hii ndio kifo poa sana to any violent gangster. Mtu hufeel,” he commented on his Facebook page.
Area police officers later came in to ferry the two scattered bodies to a nearby mortuary and took that chance to warn young boys and girls in the area to desist from engaging in criminal activities this Covid-19 period just because schools are closed.
They warned that anyone found engaging in lawlessness will not be spared by authorities regardless of age or status.
