Sunday, October 31, 2021 –Deputy President William Ruto has asked his competitors to be ready to accept defeat in 2022 general elections.
Speaking during his tour in Kajiado County on Saturday October 30, the DP urged opposition team to prepare their concession speech early.
“When Kenyans decide in 2022, and they decide that it is one of my competitors and not myself, will accept the verdict of the people of Kenya,” Ruto stated.

He also promised on his part to concede but only if the competitors will be willing to do the same when defeated.
Ruto added that he will not allow any interference with the results of the 2022 general elections because the will of the people must be respected.
In an indirect attack to the Orange Democratic Party boss Raila Odinga, the UDA Party leader stated that the culture of causing chaos in elections will this time not be tolerated because there is enough time for each one to campaign and sell their agenda to the voters.
“I ask my competitors to do the same and commit themselves to accept the outcome, and not do what they have been doing in the past,” he stated.

He wondered why they are wasting a lot of time holding boardroom meetings as if voters are found in hotels.
In Kajiado, UDA Party wants to remove the incumbent Governor Joseph Ole Lenku from power through two aspirants – Peris Tobiko(MP Kajaiadio East) and Katoo Ole Metito (MP Kajiado South) both who have agreed to go through fair primaries to determine the best candidate.
