Friday, June 4, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto is reportedly planning a grand comeback to Kisumu County after learning about his popularity during the last Madaraka Day celebrations.
Ruto who met a rare ecstatic reception at Kondele Market while heading to State Lodge for lunch after Madaraka Day, couldn’t believe how Kisumu residents showered him with praises despite the area being a Raila Odinga stronghold.
And so that not to leave anything to chance and to hit while its still hot, the second in command is allegedly planning a major comeback so that he can have a sweet time with locals. This visit, according to insiders, is scheduled anytime next week.
“He is coming back to Kisumu. He was happy to see how he was treated by residents of Kisumu and cannot wait to meet them again. It will be big next week,” a well-placed source claimed.
In the tour, Ruto will host leaders and professionals from Nyanza Region to discuss both development and future leadership in the area.
All these plans are informed by his Tuesday reception at Kondele when he was making his way out of Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Mamboleo.
Youth thronged both sides of the road to receive him in what could be described as uncharacterized excitement by stopping his motorcade and demanding for greetings.
Confirming this plan yesterday, Mr. Eliud Owalo said DP’s bottom up economic approach resonates well with many Luo youths.
This however will be an interesting rivalry owing to the fact that Uhuru and Raila are already hanging on a development card to endear and maintain their firm grip on Nyanza Region.
