Thursday, August 24, 2023 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party politicians led by Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly MCA Robert Alai have listed names of Cabinet Members they want sacked.
In a statement today Thursday August 24, Alai advised President William Ruto to move with speed and demote five Cabinet Secretaries CASs, or sack them all together, saying they had proved their incompetence on job.
Alai, in a statement seen by this desk, noted that the head of State will only succeed in his plans to move this country next level if he will take the bold move and remove the five officials from office.
This cleaning, Alai said, will bring a huge change in the Kenya Kwanza administration which seems to be struggling with service delivery to the people of Kenya.
“Ruto, if you want to succeed in your first term; Fire Eliud Owalo, Florence Bore, Aisha Jumwa, Alfred Mutua and Roselinda Soipan. Give them other jobs like directors elsewhere but the CS job imewashinda.
“Mtu kama Mutua I think doesn’t have any affinity with truth or honesty. His character is to exaggerate and tell petty fibs,” he asserted.
This remark coming at the time the Parliament is concerned about the conduct and performance of Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba.
Yesterday Wednesday August 23, CS Namwamba was grilled and tasked to explain the worrying state of affairs in the ministry of Sports.
Among other accusations, he was faulted for poor service to the athletes in the country as well as accused of flying first class at the expense of local sportsmen.
Majority Leader and Kikuyu Member of Parliament MP Kimani Ichung’wah and his Ugunja’s counterpart Opiyo Wandayi teared into Namwamba as he watched from his sit in Parliament.
In his response, however, Namwamba said he was the least-traveled Cabinet Secretary and, added that, under his leadership, the Ministry of Sports had tripled athletes’ allowances to sh 3,000 and sh 20000 per day.
At some point, he was asked by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula to tender an apology over a letter he had authored to the Majority leader, Kimani Ichung’wah.
