Saturday, May 25, 2024 –President William Ruto has opened up on his relationship with China after a successful visit to the United States of America U.S.A,
Speaking on a televised CNN Tv interview on the last day of U.S.A tour, President William Ruto dismissed concerns that Kenya’s relationship with China would deteriorate.
Addressing the concern on CNN, the head of State said his tour in the USA will not, in any way, affect his ties with China.
He added that, Kenya as a country, was not planning to fall into the trap of taking sides over its bilateral relationship.
Dr. Ruto noted that, either East or West, Kenya will remain steadfast in maintaining its ties for the betterment of all.
The commander admitted that, since his inauguration, there have been attempts to put Kenya into a position that would force it to compromise and take sides on working with either the East or the West.
“Many people want to pull us to a conversation to whether we are facing east or west, let me tell you, we are neither facing west nor east, we are facing forward.
“That is where the opportunities are and we are working in a manner to make sure we put resources where opportunities are.” Dr. Ruto stated.
The Kenyan commander-in-chief shared that his U.S.A visit has secured the country a number of multi-million investments opportunities to help the Kenyan youths earn employment especially in the technology industry.
Ruto added that these working ties will help unlock so much potential not only in Kenya but also around East Africa as a continent.
President William Ruto has, of late, embraced both the East and the West in his bid to bring trade and investment back home.
